Are we supposed to believe that is real snow?  Come off it, it's that foam stuff they put fire's out with, ask Glen, Terry's son!!

Why do they Yanks have to exaggerate all the time?  Moon landings?  Done in a film studio, see Capricorn One.  Bigger things than anywhere else?  A Yank was telling a taxi driver in London how all the vegetables in the U.S. were bigger than anywhere else.  At one point they passed The Oval and saw the gasometer.  'What's that?' the Yank asked.  'It's the pot we use to boil those bloody big cabbages you've been going on about,' the cabbie replied.

Oh yes, it's the 60th anniversary of the great winter of 1947, now that was real weather.  Remember that Terry?

Hey!!! Who rattled your cage.

You don't think it's real snow. Just check the news.

Upstate New York with over 10 ten feet of snow dropped over six days.

Hey Tom, I guarantee it's real snow.

Although I've lived over here since 1986 I'm still Canning Town born and bred and I check out the BBC World News daily. That's where I saw the aticles about the snow you've had back in Blighty.

What caught my eye was the story about Birmingham getting 7 inches of the white stuff. My wife (she is from Birmingham) nearly fell off her chair laughing as we had just had a 2 day snowfall that dumped 3 feet on my roof.....................

Alright, as you're from C.T. I'll believe you.  But I still remember the 1947 winter and going past The Bridge House down Stephenson Street to the Gas Light & Coke Co. to get 28lbs of coke.  I carried it home to near Saint Luke's in my brother's pram.

We don't get much snow here on the Sussex Coast because the sea temperature causes snow to turn into rain, and we've had a lot of that recently, so much so that the local Water Company has finally relented on the hose pipe ban.

well things are looking good, 2 towners argueing about snow, makes a change from the old days when all the arguements where in the pub, over a pint.well i will act as the referee,i remember 1947, freezing still had to go to school, when your kids dont matter does it.as long as the 689 or 699 took me to St Bons in Forest gate,
we were always late because in them days the trolly buses had lines connected to the wires, for the electricy connection, and they would keep comming of in the winter.
i cannot remember what there proper name was ,perhaps Tom will remember?
Its no good asking Colin Rappo,he was not born yet.
my verdict Colin get deducted 2 points for imagrating to the states, but gets a extra 5 points for a great picture, which he most proberly took. Tom gets 5 point for starting the Topic, but gets deducted 2 points for starting a argument.i never been any good at maths so you will have to work out who won. its sno`w good havind a draw.
Tom i use to get half hundred weight of coke ,we had to walk over the pegaleggy steps into star lane, back bracking, good old days aye.

Terry

I'll accept a draw.

Why did you get half a hundredweight when I could get only 28 lbs of coke?  I certainly wouldn't like to have lugged it over Peggy Leggy Steps, but it was a good place to take a girl in later days!!!!

Tom you are most likely right. 28lbs. 2 stone, sounds better,i did use to take my mum s pram, when we could afford 2 bags, but we had to walk a lot further.up the hill and down again, could not get over the steps with the pram.

Sorry Tom you cannot except a draw unless Colin agrees to it?

Well, here's a shot of a spectacular Hawaiian sunset that I took when I was over there after a day when the temperature had reached 105 degrees farenheit. Where we are on the West Coast in Washington it's a bit cooler than California but the temperatures still get way up there during the summer months.

The weathers great over here. In the upper 80's every day. got to 102 last week and expecting it to be in high 90's later this week.

Terry, got into Karrang's Listen Online feature. Damn it's not available outside of the UK.

Can anyone out there record Terry's segment on Sunday and send it over to me. Any format will work.

I'll check out the Book Review in the Times on Friday............

Colin, I'll do my best, though I'll have think how to record from internet streaming, I've got a feeling that connecting the input and output leads of the soundcard then into Nuendo may work, I'll check with our PC guy at work.

Hawai, no there's a thing about 20 years ago I could have lived there but decided I liked London, or more accuratly the Intrpepid Fox in Wardour street more and left the girl in question for home.
