Reading me old Sunday Paper The Sunday Express, there in front of me 3 big adverts for Tours by Joe Brown. The Manfreds,and Stan Webbs Chicken Shack,all old Bridge house Entertainers.Joe who is on tour with Daughter Sam and Pete Brown, a family Get together Joe was a guest of Stevie Marriot at the blind drunk gigs, Sam use to come to the Bridge to do Backing Vocals With Chris Thompson And Stevie Lang`e,with there band Filthy McNasty she was 16 years old. Paul Jones Tom McGuiness and Rob Townsend all played with the Blues Band at the Bridge House.
Blues at its best with Stan Webbs Chicken Shack,he recorded a live album at the Bridge,i never got a copy.he is on tour with John Mayer.   www.flyingmusic .com

thanks for the info re,Squire,i am just getting some dates together from the Bridge house Days,when we had Mods Mondays.Squire played on the10th of September,1979. supported by S.W.1. is Tony Maynell,still running the band?
The next month  Monday Oct 8th. Sta-Prest + Fixtation
and it cost 50p to get in.each night.

Hi Terry,

Yes Tony Meynell is still lead man for Squire. They played a great set at the B'ham Alldayer. Nice guy, I asked him about the Bridgehouse gigs and he said he enjoyed 'em but he mainly remembered the electricity pylon! Smiley

Hallo ,tell him the pylons are still there but the old Bridge House has gone, also tell him i do not hold grudges, and i wish him well.I new his brother in law,cannot remember his name he was in the music bussiness,perhaps you can find out.

Hi all you guys and girls,out there, really need bridge house dates when  the  bands played ,what day date year,from 1975 until 1983. old Melody makers.N.M.Es
Sounds, the Face,plus other mags that advertised gigs.
we really do want to get up to date .We have1977 is on the web site as are 6 month of 1981,i have got a lot of 1982,please help you guys,
remember that date you had with that someone special.

well my request for dates of bands playing the Bridge House has not been very successful,only Tag,has sent some in,oh yes and another Pal, who is writing a book about the 4 skins,(no not Gary Bushell) i will let you know his name later,U2 played for me on the 12th 0f December 1979,it would be good to get that week of gigs at the Bridge,and who supported them,also, come on get into all them old cuboards and files, we need you.

Terry, seems that more informations about that U2's show in December is unknown. But they only played at the Bridgehouse once in 1979. Another time they played at a Bridge House pub was in 1980, but it was in Ireland (didn't know existed more than one Bridge House!  Shocked )

Look what I've found. This site opens a .pdf of the paper The Londoner, telling a little about the Bridge House. It is at the LONDONBEAT part (where Jimmi Hendrix appears). There is a small notice about the pub and the bands that played there (U2, Dire Straits, etc). It's short.
