You ask any other pics......... Well............... Somewhere I've got the reverse of this picture. Imagine the guys in the same order, turning round so that thier backs are facing the camera. They all drop thier shorts. They all bend over to touch thier toes. And. THEY MOON THE CAMERA. If I can find that I could blackmail the TEAM.... Ask Glen, Lloyd and Terry if they remember that one.

RDB roadies name is Steve though can't remember second name at the moment he had a brother who used to come to the bridge at times, tall thin dark hair. Can confirm front /left is Peter but I can't remember second name either. Middle front used to play in the pool team as well and the name Peter rings a bell but too sure!
Anyone else got any clues?

Did The Bridge ever play the Durham Dynamoes? They had Alfie Darby playing for them, a great player who should have been a pro after a good schoolboy record.
Remember The Durham, just down Stephenson Street?

"I have only7. surnames.4.5.7.8.10.11.12. come on you guys dig deep?" Oh come on Terry, claiming 7 surnames! I think you might have a slight inside info on 3 of them

Terry
The Durham, Durham Dynamoes, had a Sunday morning team in the late 50s.
They were a typical Sunday team, most players suffering from hangovers, except for Alfie Darby. He had played for Star Lane against my Saint Margaret's team in the Primary League Play-off in 1947. I was playing at left half and was told to mark Alfie, who was playing at inside right, out of the game. This I did so well through normal time and the first half of extra time. We were 1-1 when the Star Lane teacher, a Catholic!!, shifted Alfie to inside left. I followed him but Billy Murphy refused to move across to cover my gap despite being shouted at by our teacher, Jim Welsh. They scored three times in about three minutes and our match was lost.
I mentioned this to Alfie before a game against Durham Dynamoes one Sunday. He smiled at the memory I hadn't let him touch the ball and then murdered me all through the match. I should have kept stumm. He was a very good player who should have gone a long way.
The Durham is still there, voted second best pub in Canning Town behind the Ordnance Arms in one poll.
I presume the Bidder Street pub is the Dartmouth.
Now a couple of questions:-
1. As you looked at The Imp there was the Liverpool on the left. What was the pub on the other side of the cinema?
2. What was the name of the Mann's pub on the corner of Ford Street and Shirley Street, Prince Albert or Prince Arthur?
3. Can you remember the name of the pub next to the Dockland Settlement?
As another aside. A boxer, B O'Halloran, won 2 National Schoolboy titles, 1937 and 1938. Any relation?

1.Victoria Arm,corner of victoria dock rd. 2.prince Albert. known as Streeties. 3.i known this pub so well, Morrie Vicars sister and her husband ran it , In fact it was the pub where son Glen played his first gig, with his band ,got £5.00 for it,played a few Sunday mornings, then asked for £10.00.got sacked. 4. Interesting but no knowledge,it is my Grandmother single name ,before she married John Murphy,so could well be a relation, hope so,even it it means i was not the first in our family,to win the schoolboys championship, could you find out what school he boxed for? other schoolboy champions in our family. son Glen, nephews John, and James Murphy, brother Jim boys. thanks Tom
