After hearing the sad news of Mick Atkins passing away,The Funeral will be held.at the East London crematorium,Grange rd E16,just down the Hermit Rd.at 11am sharp.on Friday the 31st October.this is just about one mile away from were i first met Mick at the Bridge house in Canning Town., were with Ken Scott ,Andy Scott ,Darren .Murphy.Nico Lowe. they had formed Wasted Youth,They recorded there first single Jealousy.which received much Air Play, and gave the band a good kick off. Then Rocco Barker came alone to replace Mick, they tried to go with Lead And Rhythm, but Mick Left the band,to form his own, they all remained the best of pales. We are lucky that all these years later,we Have Bridge House 2 and Tony Nichols the owner has agree to let us have the reception there after the funeral service.the Venue is in Bidder st,which is about 15 minutes walk from the cemetery. See you all there ,Terry Murphy

Hi Guys,
I hope it all goes well tomorrow, unfortunatly my kind hearted employer won't give me the day off, so if anyone knows of any jobs going!
Please give Betty my condolences, and also those of Jaqi Fisher, my mum, who used to pick Micks brother up in the coach for the Elizabeth Fry school.
We mustn't let the idea of the gig go, I'll still be needing to saw farewell to a good mate, and I'm sure we can raise some cash for Betty.
Steve.

Terry, I have heard that he is short, fat and ugly. The song is about the things that we all did together back in the day. Some good, some not so good but all a part of growing up. It was dedicated to Mick as I wrote it just after hearing the sad news of his passing. I was recently lent an old Fender accoustic guitar by a certain Mr David Montgomery, who took the cover photos for the Hendrix album 'Electric Ladyland". He lives down the Kings Road and found the guitar in a skip! It was still in tune!! We tuned it to an open E chord so a clumsy old bassist like me can play it with one finger, like the old blues slide guitar. I wrote the song as soon as I got the guitar. It is short and simple and with the kind help of Jeff Ellis we recorded it and gave Micks mum Betty a copy. I am hoping that my daughter Sophie, who is Davids friend can twist his arm and get me the guitar for chrismas! David was a drummer, and now is learning boogie woogie piano so hopefully wont want the guitar back. I am sure Mick would have liked the guitars story and hope that he would have liked the first song to come from the guitar. Lee.

Betty Micks mother was with her other son who is disabled over xmas,as you would expect they had a quit time,we wish her well. But you can bet John McGeady was well pleased to see Mick ,knowing John he would have got a Bridge house Jam together,He would have to invite jesus, but surely Rory is the best guitarist,so who takes to billing?.Steve Waller on vocals. hope it happened T,M
