Thought I would add these two photos I found on the internet of the Stones after they were busted and tried at West Ham Magistrates Court way back in 1965. Amazingly I stumbled on them while searching for some Hammers photos and they are of special interest to me as my late Father is one of the Policemen on duty at the court that day. I was aware that Charlie played the Bridge as well so it may be of interest

Hello Terry, when I was a little lad the Stones played the Granada in East Ham. I remember my dad telling me that they got knicked after the gig, for pissing up the petrol pumps in the little garage down Katherine rd, just past Trebors. As we lived in the next road we went down to see where it had happened. I wonder if that is why they were in court? I also remember going to the end of our road (St Bernards} and looking for bloodstains on the floor as the Krays had just done away with the mad axeman on the junction of the Barking Rd and Ladysmith. My dad told me not to tell my mum but as soon as we got back I announced that there was no blood to be seen! My dad had a bit of explaining to do that evening. Lee.

Lee The incident with the Stones that you mention was when they pi**ed on a garage forecourt. The establishment was the Francis Service Station in Romford Road (actually near near West Ham Baths) and they were on their way from the Romford Granada - although you are quite right, the did perform at the East Ham Granada too, but not on this occasion.

When I was a kid my dad would take me out and about telling me all weird and wonderful things. Most of them were along the lines of father christmas but I loved it. We would eat Mick Jagger biscuits. These were rich tea biscuits actually, but not up to my dads standards. He said what are these, prison biscuits? I bet Mick Jagger is having these for his tea tonight! Mick was banged up at the time for a minor drugs charge and my dad thought that, that was hilarious. They will always be Mick Jagger biscuits to me. Regarding the golf Terry. He took it very seriously as most brothers will rather die than lose to a sibling, although like me he would never cheat. I know you are only joking about the score cards. All the best, Lee.

Funny how things get mixed up down the years really. I was always told that the 'pissing up the wall' incident was actually the petrol station in Romford on the corner of North Street and the Eastern Avenue. Infact, I have a video of a BBC 25th aniversay (!) of the Rolling Stones on the BBC where Charlie Watts actually says it was 'That garage in Romford'. Though of course, he could have got it wrong. 20 years ago in the Rolling Stones world could have seemed like 1000 years, considering all that had gone on in between.
