I also had Radio 5 Live on and tried 94.9 FM.  The problem for me was that 94.9 FM covers our local BBC station, South Coast, and obliterates London.  I often want to listen to London but it ain't poss.  Hope it went well.

Steve, Thanks for that. I've listened to the replay from your link, but although the interview was good Terry's voice sounds muffled. I've recorded it and I'll try to clean it up a little. If you get the chance to transfer your copy to MP3 etc. I'd love a cleaner copy.

Just found out some fantastic news ,from Peter Martin ,Lou`s brother.
he has in formed me that Lou Martin is alive and okay, hes not in the best of health, and he is not playing Piano any more. But he has not passed on,as indicated in the dedication page on the Bridge house Canning Town book.I Am really sorry our reseach company never found this out.But it is great news that he is still with us,So come on you guys and girls let have some stories of when you saw Lou Play,he was a great player at the Bridge house Jams, but lets not forget his real job was the piano player with the Rory Gallagher band.Has any one memories of who he played with after Rory and the Bridge house passed on.

When their time with Rory was finally over, Rod and Lou decided to fulfil a long time ambition and put a band together with Mick Clarke and "Mac" McDonald. With Stevie Smith fronting the band they formed "Ramrod". The band toured Ireland and had some success in London, but unfortunately the times were against it.. punk music had arrived, and bands such as Ramrod had no chance at all of securing a record contract. Despite the valiant efforts of band members, particularly Rod deAth, the band broke up after just a year.

Lou and Rod were now booked for a tour of Europe backing Chuck Berry. The tour line up included Muddy Waters and was a huge success, being repeated soon afterwards. Lou's stories of life with Chuck are legendary.. but you must ask him yourself!

Over the following years Lou took up long residencies as a solo pianist, and also recorded with Mick Clarke on several of his albums. In the early 1990's he joined up with Scottish band "Blues'n'Trouble", relocated to Edinburgh and went back on the road full time. The band recorded several albums and toured extensively across Europe. Following this Lou worked full time with Mick Clarke's band, again touring regularly across Europe, and has played on the new Killing Floor album "Zero Tolerance".

Lou has recently worked in various projects such as the "Band of Friends" and other Gallagher tributes. He also works occasionally with Nine Below Zero, Gwyn Ashton and Mick Clarke. At the moment he is recovering from illness and is hoped to rejoin working with KILLING FLOOR soon.

Lou Martin........................

Brings back so many memories. I'll never forget one late night after the pub had closed Gerry, Rod and Lou and a few others were still in the bar in the early hours when Lou bet me some ridiculous amount that he could drink more than me before Terry threw us out.

Well, I was game for anything in those days. The only trouble being that Lou was drinking shorts and I was still on pints trying to match each other one for one. To this day I still don't know who won the bet. It must have been one of those times that Terry had to take me home.
