Damn, Terry, Does this mean I have to get my tiny little brain back in working order and recall those memories from my younger days............

I took so many pictures and recorded so many bands I should write a book. Oh, hold on, you're already doing that. Seriously though, I'll come up with with a few to post here.

Now let me see, where did I leave my thinking cap HuhHuhHuh

Thats Good news Colin, great when I listen to the old tapes, takes me back ,and i can see the bands playing them songs. Memories are made of this, said Bing Crosby, and you know what, he was right.

I remember Manfred Mann , rehearsing at The Bridge House,Chris Thompson the lead singer, got them down,in the afternoon,to go over some new songs. They played that night at the Hammersmith Odeon, and i was there guest , I think you come with me, do you remember.?

Get them tapes on CD and send me a copy Col.

I've just listened to the Salt gig. Stevie Smiths vocals are so strong. The whole tape is really good quality and considering I taped that 30 YEARS AGO it's amazing.

The Manfred Mann rehearsal tape is also good. It's over 2 hours long. I sure do remember going to the Hammy Odeon.................

Ok, I've digitized some of the tracks. I'll get a few snippets up online and send them over to you. Let me know what you think.

Hey T....... This SALT/McAVOY tape is good quality but really heavy on the bass. I think this is a copy that I did to emphasise Gerry's playing.

I'm going to put it through a mixer in the next day or two to try to clean it up and then see what it sounds like.

I'll let you know.

Hi Colin, Tony McPhee, played under his own name then the Groundhoggs,he then informed me to leave his name out and just promote the name Terraplane, he tried to get a new start, after a couple of months he went back to the Tony McPhee band.

i have just seen some adds for chriistmas gigS,
There Tony McPhee still doing the roundS ,they are big gig now,not in the old pubs ANYMORE.
Hope you are keeping well

You still haven't found a machine to play them on.......... You really do need to talk to me about that.........

I can get them transferred over here for a fraction of what it would cost in Good Old Blighty.

Another Question............... Did Chris Thompson ever get on stage with Gerry McAvoy, Lou Martin and Rod De'Ath.

If so, what year was it and was it a Jam session or just a guest appearance.

Hi Colin,Chris Thompson never did any Jams with his band, but if you remember he always had lots of guests, who would come on after he had finished his set. the only time he and his band came of stage, was when he interduced  Huey Lewis and his band Clover,They played for 30 minutes  Huey use to come to the Bridge regularly ,i have a picture of him Chris, Terry Slessor Wilson(crawler) Stevie lang`a, on the old stage,
i also have a  picture of  Chris, Paul Jones and Gerry McAvoy.
jamming at the Bridge,I just keep wondering who took this pictures? I have no Idea who was jamming with who.
Forget that reverse football picture,please

Hi Colin
yes you are right, Chris Thompson did come to the pub, to Jam, when he was invited by who ever was organising the Jam. and the picture i have of him with Gerry McAvoy and Paul Jones, was most probally a McAvoy Jam,when  Rod D`eath the Drummer, and Lou Martin on keyboards, they were the Rory Gallagher Band, and they were always the engine room of the Jams
This may well be the same night of the picture you have of Rod and Chris, would you post it on the forum ,I can then get a better Idea,of the time, by the posters on the back of the stage,Good one Col.
