Damn................ I go to Las Vegas and the board dies................

Back in the 70's and 80's Clapton was God and Gary Moore was given the title of The Messiah.

I had already left London in 1981 when he did a Jam at the Bridge House, but, I was lucky to have caught quite few of his gigs in and around the Midlands. He is still very active on the English and European gig lists.

I've just uploaded a 10 minute vid of Gary playing The Messiah Will Come at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1990 to You Tube and the difference between this and his earlier vids from the 70's is amazing.

Watch this vid with the volume turned up loud and concentrate not only on the guitar playing but on his facial expressions as well. I can remember him pulling the same faces in his earlier days...............

Here's the You Tube link :-

Thanks Chino here is the write p and qoute from Eric Bell

Rock guitarist Gary Moore dies
Gary Moore Gary Moore was a guitarist with Thin Lizzy and was also acclaimed for his solo work

The renowned rock guitarist Gary Moore has died, the BBC has learned.

Mr Moore, 58, was, originally from Belfast, and was a former member of the legendary Irish group Thin Lizzy.

Adam Parsons, who manages Thin Lizzy, told the BBC that Mr Moore had died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mr Moore was originally drafted into Thin Lizzy by its singer Phil Lynott. He later gained acclaim for his solo work and was a former member of the Irish group Skid Row.

The Northern Ireland guitarist was only 16 when he moved from Belfast to Dublin in 1969, to join Skid Row, which featured Lynott as lead vocalist.

He was later brought into Thin Lizzy by Lynott to replace the departing Eric Bell, another guitarist from Northern Ireland.

Mr Bell told the BBC on Sunday he was still "in shock" at Mr Moore's death.

"I still can't believe it," he said.

"He was so robust, he wasn't a rock casualty, he was a healthy guy.

"He was a superb player and a dedicated musician."

Our Venue. The Bridge House, JAM Gary Moore Dennis Stratton.Kieth Emerson etc
The Bridge House was both a starting place for new bands and also a place where established bands, or members of bands, could come and play without being hassled; they knew that they could relax and enjoy themselves. They also used to try out other instruments that they had not used before and of course they played different types of music from what they played with their main bands. An example of this was Charlie Watts; his band was called Rocket 88 was a jazz band with his own sound although Charlie still played drums, as he always did, with the Rolling Stones. With rocket 88 he used to play more lightly, with more of a jazzier, bluesy feel.
Gary Moore came down to a Jam and played the blues all night. Afterwards he said it was the best blow he had blown since he first started playing. Dennis Stratton had organised the Jam and he also had Keith Emerson, one of the members of the band Emerson Lake and palmer. Dennis by this time had formed a new band called Lion heart.
Lion heart got them an American deal, toured America and now they were trying to get a deal in England. Funny sometimes how it works out; they had a deal in America but could not get a deal in their own country. It was a heavy band, which were generally more popular in America than Britain. Being an ex-Iron maiden guitarist must have helped Dennis and don’t forget, he was on the live at the Bridge House album while with Remus Down Boulevard.?

Gary Moore in the Sunday papers today he has left 2 million pound in his will.
I guess it is better to be penniless and alive,But its great to see the old rockers made it pay even if it was in there later years.
and his royalties will still be accounted for to his next of kin, regards T.M
