Do you remember what dates and what gigs were on at the Bridge?

We are trying to compile complete calenders/diaries of the Bridge House between the years '75 and '82 to put up on the website.

We have a number of dates but there are huge gaps. What do you remember.
Do you have any old ads from Melody Maker, Sounds and NME from the time.

We can also include links from the diary to bands own websites.

Have a look at the '77 diary;

I've been attempting to put together a 4-Skins gigography, these are the Bridge House dates I have.

1979
Summer – The Damned, Cockney Rejects and The 4-Skins (The 4-Skins’ debut gig).

1981
18th Feb – The 4-Skins, Vice Squad, Anti-Establishment and Judge Dread (‘New Punk Convention 2’).
9th Mar – Cockney Rejects, The 4-Skins and Eraserhead.
10th Mar – Cockney Rejects, The 4-Skins and Eraserhead.
13th May – Cock Sparrer, The 4-Skins, The Business and The Last Resort (Garry Bushell’s 25th birthday party).

So far I've got 34 (4-Skins) dates, can anyone supply any other 4-Skins dates (or press reviews)?

The 4-Skins dahn the Bridge House

Here are a few more I've been able to locate;

3rd Feb 1979 – E.F. Band

23rd May 1979 – Zorro

16th September 1979 – Zorro and Spider

21st Dec 1981 – Dirt

I took the photo from a website. I first saw it used on a 4-Skins LP issued by Link about 20 years ago, so I would suggest contacting Mark and/or Jon @ Captain Oi!

I'd appreciate the data on the 4 skins you have. I look forward to seeing it!

I was in contact with Shane Baldwin (drummer in Vice Squad) recently, I asked him about the time Vice Squad supported The 4-Skins at The Bridgehouse, this is what he sent to me;

That was the only time we ever played with the 4-Skins, and the line-up was as you say except that Judge Dread wasn't on the bill. It was a pretty scary night, hundreds of skins and just two very frightened punks to see us. They hid in our dressing room all night. I just stood next to Bushell all night wearing a badge saying 'I'm with him'! By the way, if you look at the booklet for the 'Vice Squad Rarities' CD on Captain Oi!, the live photo is from the Bridgehouse gig, but Dave faked it on his computer. The band photo is from the beginning of the set with no one watching, but it was the best one, so he just copied in various skins from other photos taken that night.

Hi Weston,hope you are still a member ,sorry i have not got back to you,but i thought i must tell you i was with Hoxton Tom on Saturday,and told him you had posted a picture of the band,he nearly had a fit,whats it like how did i look,we had a good laugh about it, i said well you got black hair in the Pic, not grey like you are now.

The 4 skins dates you posted ,are they all at the Bridge House?
The book is out soon, we will have a reunion,and we can all meet up again
.Hope to get you pic of the 4 skins in, i am worried they may say the quality is not good enough,but i hope.
Regards T.M

Hi Terry,

Yes, all the gigs I posted are at the Bridgehouse.

Any chance you could ask Hoxton Tom about the 4-Skins gigography? As I mentioned above I've listed about 34 gigs so far. I could perhaps email you the gigography and you could pass it onto Tom (Huh?).

Thanks,

Carl.
